How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Daily Rate: £143 - £255 per day (dependent on experience)

    The Role

    The successful candidate will:

    Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across KS3 and GCSE.
    Inspire students to develop curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific learning.
    Plan, prepare and assess high-quality lessons that drive pupil progress.
    Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities.
    Monitor attainment and provide targeted support where required.
    Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
    Contribute to the ongoing success and development of the Science department.
    Support students in preparing for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
    Encourage students to explore future opportunities within STEM-related careers.

    We Are Looking For Someone Who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Has experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
    Possesses strong subject knowledge across KS3 and GCSE Science.
    Can deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire learners.
    Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
    Has strong communication, planning and organisational abilities.
    Is committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all pupils.
    Works effectively as part of a collaborative department team.
    Shares a genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
