How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are working exclusively with a highly regarded and rapidly growing main contractor to appoint an Operations Director for its Central London, commercial focused division.

With a strong secured pipeline and an impressive portfolio of prestigious projects, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a business that continues to invest in its people, clients and long-term growth.

The role will see you taking full operational responsibility for a significant portfolio of projects, providing strategic leadership across multiple schemes while managing and developing a team of Project Directors. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team to drive performance, ensure successful project delivery, strengthen key client relationships and support the continued expansion of the division.

Projects include complex commercial office developments, high-value cut & carve refurbishments, fit-outs, new build commercial schemes and PCSA led projects, ranging from early contractor involvement through to successful completion.

    The Role

Lead and support a team of Project Directors across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.
Oversee operational performance, programme delivery, quality and commercial outcomes.
Drive excellence across both pre-construction and project delivery, including PCSA and negotiated schemes.
Build and maintain long term relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
Play a key role in the continued growth and strategic direction of the division.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture across the business.

    About You

Proven experience operating at Operations Director or Divisional Director within a leading main contractor.
Strong track record delivering commercial office projects, including cut & carve refurbishments and new build developments.
Experience overseeing multiple projects through Project Directors and senior operational teams.
Strong understanding of PCSA, early contractor involvement and pre-construction.
Commercially astute with excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a financially strong contractor with an outstanding reputation, a key client base and a healthy pipeline of secured work.
