The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Reception Class Teacher to support pupils during this crucial stage of their learning and development.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting children's learning through play-based and structured activities.
* Assisting with the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
* Helping children develop their communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
* Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
* Working with individuals, small groups and the whole class.
* Preparing classroom resources and supporting learning activities.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
* Contributing to observations and assessments where required.
* Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Reception or Early Years setting.
* Has a good understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Is caring, patient and enthusiastic.
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
* Is proactive, flexible and able to use their initiative.
* Is passionate about supporting children during the early stages of their education.
* Can commit to a full-time role for the entire academic year.
Essential Requirements
* Previous Reception Class or EYFS Teaching Assistant experience.
* Strong understanding of child development and early learning.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Right to work in the UK.
* Two satisfactory professional references.
