How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK construction business delivering high profile data centre projects. Working within a specialist team, you will play a key role in the commercial management of complex, technically demanding schemes from pre-construction through to final account.

    Quantity Surveyor roles & responsibilities

    Manage all commercial aspects of data centre construction projects.
    Prepare, review and administer subcontract packages.
    Procure subcontractors and manage tender processes.
    Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow.
    Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
    Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks.
    Assess and negotiate variations and compensation events.
    Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts.
    Work closely with project managers, planners, design teams and site management to achieve commercial objectives.
    Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.Quantity Surveyor requirements

    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
    Experience working for a main contractor.
    Experience working on data centres, industrial, commercial or major infrastructure projects.
    Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly JCT and NEC.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
