How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Machine Setters within the aerospace parts CNC machining industry
    Location: Wickford, Essex, SS11 8YB
    Salary: Competitive, DOE
    Job Type: Permanent, Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
    Shift Rota: All available. 7am - 3pm; 3pm - 11pm & 11pm – 7am (premium paid for 3pm-11pm & 11pm-7am shifts)
    Chester Hall Precision Engineering Limited is now currently recruiting for fully skilled CNC Machine Setters to join their expanding team based in Wickford, Essex.
    Using multi-axis, high-speed CNC machine tools, the successful candidates will be responsible for the machining of a full range of aerospace components.
    The fully skilled CNC Machine Setter will be required to set 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machine centres producing machined precision aerospace components.
    Duties will include but not restricted to:
    * Setting CNC milling machines
    * Setting on the machine tools
    * Changing tools and holders
    * Machine adjustments
    * Problem solving on all machines
    Attributes required:
    * Knowledge of engineering drawings
    * Good understanding of engineering terminology
    * Able to use various measuring equipment e.g. micrometres
    * Good communication skills
    * Knowledge of setting 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machining centres (with experience)
    Training will be ongoing if required.
