How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Communications & Public Affairs Executive
    Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum
Location: London office, close to Bank
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent, with hybrid working
Roeks Talent is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a purpose-led national organisation with which we work closely. We are seeking a proactive Communications & Public Affairs Executive to join its Communications and Corporate Affairs team.
This is a varied, hands-on opportunity combining communications, media relations, public affairs, executive profiling and campaign support. You will help strengthen the organisation’s profile and influence, build relationships with political and media stakeholders, and support campaigns connected to its strategic growth.
The role is based at the organisation’s London office, close to Bank. You will normally attend the office two to three days per week, working from home on Mondays, Fridays and alternate Thursdays. Occasional UK travel may be required.
    The role
    - Reporting to the Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs, you will help deliver the organisation’s communications and engagement strategy. You will also play an important role in developing the CEO’s external profile through social media, media opportunities, speaking engagements, podcasts and thought-leadership content.
    - A central part of the position will be producing clear and engaging content. You will draft and edit press releases, articles, blogs, briefings and social media posts, alongside making occasional website updates. You will help plan, schedule and grow the organisation’s social media channels while supporting the CEO’s own social media presence.
    - You will monitor the media landscape, analyse relevant coverage and identify opportunities for commentary, interviews and speaking engagements. Drawing on the organisation’s research and insights, you will prepare presentations, speaking notes, articles and briefing materials for the CEO.
    - The role will also support the recording, production and promotion of podcasts and other thought-leadership content. This may include coordinating recordings, preparing contributors and briefing materials, and ensuring content reflects the priorities of both the CEO and the wider organisation.
    Public affairs
    - You will monitor parliamentary and political developments, providing concise analysis and highlighting issues relevant to the organisation’s work.
    - You will identify appropriate MPs, government officials, agencies and other stakeholders for key campaigns and policy priorities. Working with external public affairs advisers and the CEO’s office, you will help secure meetings and coordinate the CEO’s political engagement.
    - You will also support parliamentary groups, roundtables and stakeholder events, including managing invitations, attendance and event logistics.
    Campaign and lead-generation support
    - Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will help plan and deliver communications and thought-leadership campaigns. You will take a hands-on approach, supporting projects from initial research and planning through to delivery and follow-up.
    - You will help ensure that communications and lead-generation activity is accurately recorded in the organisation’s CRM. This will include maintaining contact information, tracking engagement and supporting selected lead-nurturing and new-business follow-ups.
    - You will also provide research, data gathering, project coordination and administrative support to the wider communications team when required.
    About you
    Roeks Talent would be pleased to hear from candidates who are;
    - Confident communicators with excellent writing skills and a genuine interest in the UK political and media landscape.
    - You may already work in communications, public affairs, PR, executive support or a related position and be ready to take on broader responsibilities.
    - You will bring strong organisational and project-management skills, close attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing requirements and delivering accurate work to tight deadlines.
    - The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable and solutions-focused, with the confidence to work with senior leaders and external stakeholders. You will take ownership of your work from planning through to delivery and follow-up, exercising discretion and sound judgement throughout.
    - Experience supporting a CEO or another senior executive would be particularly valuable. Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce or a similar CRM platform is desirable but not essential. A degree or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
    What’s on offer
Alongside a salary of £45,000–£50,000, the position offers hybrid working and an opportunity to develop broad experience across communications, media relations, public affairs, executive profiling and thought leadership.
You will work closely with senior leaders and gain exposure to journalists, policymakers, business figures and other influential stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to take ownership and would like to see the direct impact of their work.
If this sounds like the next step in your communications or public affairs career, Roeks Talent would be delighted to hear from you.
Apply now with an up-to-date CV outlining your relevant experience.
Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
