How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vacancy Brief
    Oscar Underhill Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a Female Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a well-established domestic abuse service based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
    This is a temporary assignment, initially expected to last 1–2 months, covering sickness absence, with the possibility of an extension.
    This is a home-based role; however, successful applicants will be required to collect the necessary equipment before the assignment begins and return it at the end of the placement.
    The Essentials
    * 35 hours per week, working from home.
    * Monday to Friday, alternating shifts of 8:00am–4:00pm and 10:00am–6:00pm.
    * Pay rate of £13.70 per hour PAYE or £17.65 per hour Umbrella.
    * A current Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Workforce) is required.
    * A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are desirable.
    The Role
    As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to women aged 16 and over who are currently experiencing, or have previously experienced, domestic abuse.
    Working closely with each individual, you will help them regain independence, improve their wellbeing and safely rebuild their lives within the community.
    You will deliver practical and emotional support, develop personalised support plans, complete comprehensive risk assessments and promote positive outcomes through effective partnership working.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Provide practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse.
    * Develop person-centred support plans, safety plans and risk assessments.
    * Manage risk effectively and refer appropriate cases to MARAC.
    * Support clients to move from temporary accommodation into safe, independent housing.
    * Promote tenancy sustainment, independence and improved wellbeing.
    * Help clients develop life skills, confidence and positive community relationships.
    * Signpost clients to specialist services including housing, health, welfare benefits and employment support.
    * Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
    * Maintain accurate case records whilst ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
    About You
    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience supporting vulnerable adults within supported housing, domestic abuse, homelessness, housing management or community-based support services.
    You will also possess:
    * Experience supporting vulnerable adults or survivors of domestic abuse.
    * Knowledge of safeguarding, DASH risk assessments and MARAC processes.
    * Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
    * The ability to work independently whilst managing a varied caseload.
    * Good IT skills and experience using electronic case management systems.
