How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Data Engineer / Modeller | London | Outside IR35 | £400 - £500 | Hybrid

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across the full data lifecycle — from designing scalable platforms and pipelines to shaping well-structured data models that drive meaningful business insight. You’ll operate in a collaborative, small-team environment, working closely with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to turn complex requirements into clear, practical solutions.

    What You’ll Be Doing
Designing and delivering robust data models (conceptual, logical, dimensional) for analytics and reporting
Building and optimising data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments
Ingesting and integrating data from various sources (APIs, databases, flat files)
Translating business needs into scalable, maintainable data solutions
Applying best practices across data governance, quality, and security
Working directly with clients, explaining technical concepts in a clear, accessible way
Supporting junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharingRequirements

Around 5 experience in data engineering or data consultancy
Strong experience with data modelling, ideally dimensional (e.g. Kimball)
Proven ability to design solutions that support analytics and decision-making
Solid coding skills in SQL and Python (Spark/SQL variants beneficial)
Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar)
Understanding of modern data architectures (e.g. medallion/lakehouse approaches)
Exposure to Agile delivery and collaborative, cross-functional teams
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
If this is a role that suits your skillset, you can work to a hybrid model in London and available within 2 weeks then apply for the role directly or send me your CV to (url removed).
