How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bright Star Talent is currently working with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in the B42 area of Birmingham to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Performing Arts Teacher for a full-time position starting in September.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school with a strong leadership team, hardworking staff, and students who are eager to learn.     The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that motivate students to achieve their full potential. Whether your specialism is Drama, Dance or Music, you will play a key role in developing students' creativity, performance skills and confidence within a positive and inclusive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

    Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Performing Arts lessons in line with the national curriculum.

    *

    Teach students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

    *

    Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.

    *

    Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.

    *

    Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

    *

    Encourage creativity, teamwork and confidence through practical and theoretical learning.

    *

    Prepare students for performances, school productions and other enrichment activities where appropriate.

    *

    Work collaboratively with colleagues, senior leaders and support staff to maintain high standards across the department.

    *

    Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and other school events as required.

    *

    Uphold the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety policies at all times.

    Requirements:

    *

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

    *

    A recognised teaching qualification in Drama, Dance or Music.

    *

    Previous experience teaching Performing Arts within a UK secondary school.

    *

    Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

    *

    Strong communication and organisational skills.

    *

    A genuine passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.

    *

    The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

    *

    A flexible, professional and reliable approach to teaching.
