How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor – Utilities / HV / Infrastructure (Fully Remote)

    Location: Fully Remote (UK)
    Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Benefits
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Quantity Surveyor Required – Utilities / HV / Infrastructure

    An established and rapidly growing infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team.

    This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK with no requirement for regular site visits, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional seeking greater work-life balance without compromising on career progression.

    The business delivers major infrastructure and utility projects nationwide and is looking for someone with a strong commercial background within sectors such as High Voltage (HV), Electrical Transmission, Utilities, Civils, Mechanical, Earthing, Energy or Infrastructure.

    The Role

    Working closely with the Commercial Director and Operational Teams, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring contracts are administered effectively while maximising commercial performance and maintaining strong client relationships.

    This role offers significant autonomy and would suit someone who is commercially astute, proactive and confident managing projects from contract award through to final account.

    Key Responsibilities

    Commercial Management

    * Contract review, administration and management.

    * Commercial dispute avoidance and resolution.

    * Management of contractual obligations and commercial risk.

    * Ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and contractual procedures.

    * Supporting operational teams with commercial guidance and advice.

    Project Commercial Control

    * Reviewing project scope, contractual requirements and budgets.

    * Preparing and maintaining Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).

    * Cashflow forecasting and financial reporting.

    * Monitoring project profitability and commercial performance.

    * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

    Commercial Administration

    * Preparing and submitting Applications for Payment.

    * Raising invoices and monitoring payment schedules.

    * Chasing outstanding payments and resolving payment queries.

    * Managing variations and change control processes.

    * Preparing and agreeing Final Accounts.

    * Producing commercial reports and forecasts.

    Client & Stakeholder Management

    * Developing and maintaining positive client relationships.

    * Liaising with project managers, operational teams and senior stakeholders.

    * Supporting successful project delivery through proactive commercial management.

    About You

    We're looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor who can work independently while managing multiple projects within a fast-paced contracting environment.

    You'll ideally have experience working within one or more of the following sectors:

    - High Voltage (HV)

    - Electrical Transmission

    - Utilities

    - Power Infrastructure

    - Civil Engineering

    - Mechanical Engineering

    - Earthing

    - Renewable Energy

    - Energy Infrastructure

    - Industrial Construction

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a contracting environment.

    * Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration.

    * Experience working under NEC contracts.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

    * Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.

    * Strong communication, organisational and reporting skills.

    * Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and manage your own workload.

    * Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
