How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Exeter city centre to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September start.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community where you will play a key role in raising attainment, supporting pupils across the primary age range, and delivering high-quality learning experiences. The school is looking for a confident HLTA who is comfortable leading whole-class learning, supporting intervention groups, and working closely with teachers to ensure every child reaches their potential.

    The Role

    As a HLTA, you will:

    Deliver planned lessons and cover classes in the absence of the teacher.
    Provide targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups.
    Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required.
    Help create an engaging, positive and inclusive learning environment.
    Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and school leaders.
    Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required.
    The Ideal Candidate

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level within a primary school.
    Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
    Experience delivering lessons and leading learning independently.
    Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
    A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
