How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 2)
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time (term time only)

    Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role this September? Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the B15 area of Birmingham for a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by providing personalised support to help a child thrive both academically and socially. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in ensuring the pupil can fully access learning and reach their potential.

    The Role:
    Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil throughout the school day.
    Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
    Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
    Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement in learning.
    Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
    Build positive relationships with staff, parents, and the wider school community.

    The Ideal Candidate:
    Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
    Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis or with additional needs is highly desirable.
    A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
    Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential if you have suitable experience.
