How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An award-winning construction consultancy in London is looking to appoint an Associate Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role within its expanding cost management division. With a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across commercial, residential, life sciences, industrial, hospitality, and mixed-use sectors, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Associate Quantity Surveyor to combine project leadership with team development and client growth.

    The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will lead the commercial delivery of multiple commissions, providing strategic cost advice from feasibility through to project completion. Alongside managing key client relationships, you will oversee project teams, mentor junior surveyors, contribute to business development initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of service across a varied project portfolio.

    This position is ideally suited to a driven Associate Quantity Surveyor who enjoys leading people, developing client accounts, and influencing the continued success of a progressive consultancy where your expertise and ideas will have a genuine impact.

    Associate Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

    Leading the delivery of pre- and post-contract cost management services

    Preparing and reviewing cost plans, procurement strategies, and tender reports

    Overseeing commercial performance, valuations, variations, and final accounts

    Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

    Managing, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the cost management team

    Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the consultancy's continued growth

    Associate Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

    Extensive UK consultancy experience within cost management

    MRICS qualified

    Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships

    Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication and leadership skills

    Experience mentoring teams and contributing to business development would be advantageous

    In Return:

    £85,000 - £90,000 per annum
