How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Developing and maintaining WordPress websites
    • Creating custom functionality and improving existing platforms
    • Supporting ecommerce projects, including WooCommerce websites
    • Testing websites across different devices and browsers
    • Managing website updates, fixes and ongoing maintenance
    • Supporting hosting, deployment and general technical queries
    • Working with the wider team to keep projects moving and delivered to a high standard
    • Keeping up to date with new tools, technologies and development best practice

    We need you to have:

You will ideally have at least two years’ commercial web development experience and be comfortable working across multiple projects at the same time.

    Experience with:

    HTML, CSS and JavaScript
    PHP
    WordPress development
Git or another version control system
    Responsive website development
    Website hosting, cPanel and deployment
    WooCommerce or another ecommerce platform
    Building websites from supplied designs
Cross browser testing and website performance

Any knowledge of Laravel, React, Vue or MySQL would be an advantage, although it is not essential.

Just as importantly, you will be someone who pays close attention to detail, communicates well and enjoys working as part of a creative team.

    What is on offer

    • Competitive salary based on experience
    • Company bonus scheme
    • 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays
    • Flexible start and finish times
    • Company pension
    • Health expenses plan
    • Death in service cover
    • Regular team events
    • Modern office environment
    • Ongoing training and career development
    • Additional holiday after five years’ service

This is a great opportunity for a Web Developer who is looking for a long term role within a supportive agency where they can work on a broad range of digital projects and continue building their technical experience.
