How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team working on the development of next-generation products that are shaping the future of the industry.

    Key Responsibilities

As an EDS Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for future vehicle platforms, ensuring they meet the performance, safety and reliability standards expected in demanding off-highway environments.

Designing and developing 12V, 24V and high-voltage (up to 600V) electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles.

Creating and maintaining vehicle wiring harnesses using CAD tools such as Zuken E3 and Siemens NX.

Supporting the development of electrical and electronic system architectures.

Specifying electrical and electronic components for vehicle applications.

Applying safety-critical design principles throughout the development lifecycle.

Planning and carrying out testing and validation of electrical systems and components.

Producing technical specifications, engineering standards and installation documentation.

Conducting electrical system and installation reviews to ensure compliance with engineering and legislative standards.

Building and maintaining development and validation rigs.

Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative vehicle solutions.

    Qualifications & Experience

A minimum HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.

Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle or off-highway electrical system design.

A strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems.

Experience with electrical diagnostics, fault finding and circuit analysis.

Knowledge of vehicle legislation and engineering standards across UK, European and international markets.

Experience with Zuken E3 and Siemens NX is desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

A proactive approach and a passion for developing innovative engineering solutions.

    Summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join an industry-leading engineering business where you'll contribute to the design and development of next-generation off-highway vehicles. You'll work on cutting-edge electrical systems, collaborate with highly skilled engineering teams and have the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise while playing a key role in delivering innovative products to a global market
