How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client is a global leader in advanced engineering and manufacturing, designing and producing world-class construction and agricultural machinery used in some of the most demanding environments worldwide. They are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to join their engineering teams, supporting the development of next-generation machines across multiple product areas including electrification, autonomous technology, connected systems and advanced vehicle platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on real-world products from initial concept through to production, contributing to innovative mechanical solutions that shape the future of heavy machinery.

    Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical systems, components and assemblies throughout the full product development lifecycle. Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will deliver robust designs that meet performance, quality, cost and manufacturing requirements.

Designing and developing mechanical systems, components and assemblies from concept through to production.

Creating and maintaining high-quality 3D CAD models, drawings and engineering documentation.

Developing innovative design solutions to improve machine performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Integrating mechanical, hydraulic and powertrain systems into complex machine platforms.

Supporting design reviews and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Working with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, suppliers and test teams to deliver successful products.

Supporting prototype builds, validation activities and production launches.

Investigating design issues and supporting root cause analysis activities.

Driving continuous improvement and implementing engineering best practices.

    Qualifications & Experience

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a design engineering environment.

Experience within off-highway, automotive, agricultural, defence or mobile machinery industries is desirable.

Strong mechanical design knowledge and understanding of product development processes.

Experience using 3D CAD software such as Creo, CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks or similar.

Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for manufacture.

Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles.

Experience supporting validation, testing and production delivery activities.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams.

A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-leading engineering organisation and work on the development of next-generation construction and agricultural machinery. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to influence innovative product designs, work across exciting technology areas and take ownership of engineering solutions from concept through to production
