What you'll be doing:
* Preparing for, facilitating, and concluding all types of hearings through comprehensive administrative support.
* Providing excellent customer service by engaging face-to-face, via telephone, and through written correspondence, guiding users and stakeholders-including those with complex needs-to the appropriate support and information.
* Using HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to direct users accurately, ensuring they receive tailored assistance.
* Supporting users through complaints procedures, offering immediate responses to prevent escalation, and updating relevant systems.
* Identifying risks related to HMCTS buildings, informing the Senior Person on Site, and responding promptly to safety concerns.
* Processing case files with attention to detail, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring secure information management.
* Managing jury service tasks such as selection, deferrals, attendance tracking, and handling expenses.
* Assisting with court listing and scheduling to optimise judicial time and respond to urgent matters.
* Providing judicial support, including diary management and administrative assistance.
* Supporting enforcement activities like financial assessments and fine collection, alongside producing basic reports.
* Contributing to health and safety procedures, including facility checks, issue logging, and safety governance.
What you'll bring:
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to follow procedures and work accurately under pressure.
* Good IT literacy, including data entry and document management.
* A proactive approach to safety and risk awareness.
* Flexibility to adapt to a busy court environment.
Additional information:
* Location: Chester
* Contract: until 31/03/2027, with potential extension
* Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
* Pay rate: £12.86 per hour for the first 12 weeks, increasing to £13.25 thereafter
