How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Court Support Officer (Full-Time, Temporary) - St Helens

    Our Client, a reputable organisation within the justice sector, is hiring for a dedicated Court Support Officer to join their team in St Helens. This is a full-time, temporary role until 31st March 2027, with a potential extension. Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £12.86 per hour for the first 12 weeks, increasing to £13.25 thereafter.

    What you'll be doing:
    * Undertake administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate, and conclude various hearings.
    * Provide excellent customer service by engaging face-to-face, via telephone, and through written correspondence, supporting users with diverse and complex needs.
    * Use HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to guide users to relevant services, ensuring clear and specific information.
    * Support users through complaints procedures, offering immediate assistance to prevent escalation and updating records as needed.
    * Identify and report risks related to HMCTS buildings, supporting health and safety protocols.
    * Process work according to standard operating procedures, ensuring performance targets are met.
    * Handle case files with accuracy, managing data securely and in compliance with retention policies.
    * Manage jury service tasks, including scheduling, deferrals, and expense processing.
    * Assist with court listing and scheduling, ensuring judicial time is optimised.
    * Provide administrative support for judicial operations, including diary management.
    * Support enforcement activities, such as financial assessments and fine collection.
    * Contribute to health and safety operations, including safety checks and issue logging.

    What you'll bring:
    * Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
    * Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
    * Ability to follow procedures and handle sensitive information securely.
    * Confident in managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.
    * Experience in administrative roles or customer-facing environments is desirable.
    * Knowledge of health and safety procedures is a plus.

    Additional requirements:
    * No specific formal qualifications are necessary, but a proactive attitude and excellent communication skills are essential.
    * Experience with data entry, case management, or court procedures is advantageous.
