How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor

    Location: Near Nantwich, Cheshire (SY13 4AL)
    Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance
    Benefits: 33 Days Holiday, Occasional Hybrid Working

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing residential development business based near Nantwich, Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-quality residential developments from our head office.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects, working closely with procurement, site teams, subcontractors, and the sales department to ensure projects remain commercially successful.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Procurement of construction materials and suppliers.

    * Carry out subcontractor valuations and payment assessments.

    * Assist with monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reporting.

    * Monitor project costs and support commercial reporting.

    * Liaise with the sales team to manage and track customer extras and variations.

    * Assist in subcontract procurement and commercial administration.

    * Support cost control throughout the lifecycle of developments.

    * Work closely with project and site management teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction or housebuilding sector.

    * Proficient in COINS and Bluebeam software.

    * Strong understanding of subcontractor management and valuations.

    * Experience producing or assisting with CVR reports.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.

    * Strong communication and organisational abilities.

    * Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
