How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Day Support Worker
    Pay Rate: £14.83 per hour
    Location: Bristol
    Contract: Temporary

    Are you passionate about supporting women to rebuild their lives and move towards independence? We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Day Support Worker to join a supportive housing service in Bristol, working with women who have experienced homelessness and other complex challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting women to access services, build confidence, develop independent living skills, and achieve positive outcomes. You'll be working within a person-centred environment where every day brings the opportunity to empower someone to take the next step forward.

    The Role: As a Day Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them maintain their accommodation and work towards their personal goals. Key responsibilities include:

    Providing person-centred support to women with a history of homelessness.

    Supporting residents with housing-related issues, appointments, and accessing community services.

    Encouraging independence, wellbeing, and positive life choices.

    Building professional and trusting relationships with residents.

    Maintaining accurate records and support plans.

    Working alongside colleagues and external agencies to deliver effective support.

    Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, and equality at all times.

    About You: We're looking for compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals who are committed to supporting vulnerable people. To be successful, you will have:

    A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK within a relevant field such as homelessness, housing, mental health, supported living, social care, or community support.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    The ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.

    A good understanding of the challenges faced by women who have experienced homelessness.

    Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.

    Desirable:

    A current DBS registered on the Update Service.
