How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A capable Chartered Building Surveyor is needed to join a well-established construction consultancy in London, delivering project-led building surveying work across commercial and mixed-use schemes.

    The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will join a collaborative team with a strong pipeline of work, flexible hybrid working and clear progression within Building Surveying.

    The Chartered Building Surveyor Role

    The Chartered Building Surveyor will work closely with senior surveyors and associates, managing projects and professional instructions from early advice through to completion.

    Duties of the Chartered Building Surveyor to include:

    Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer's Agent
    * Prepare design information, specifications and feasibility reports
    * Manage projects of varying size and complexity
    * Undertake surveys, inspections and site visits
    * Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams
    * Act as Lead Designer where required
    * Produce clear reports, recommendations and project documentationThe Person?

    The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will be technically capable, commercially aware and comfortable managing projects with minimal supervision.

    The Chartered Building Surveyor will ideally have:

    A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property-related discipline
    * MRICS Chartered (or close to achieving)
    * Strong technical knowledge across core building surveying services
    * Experience managing projects with minimal supervision
    * Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
