How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Fenton, ST4
    Job Type: Permanent
    Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 | Friday: 07:30 - 11:00
    Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on Experience)

    We are recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative electrical systems within a technically advanced manufacturing environment, contributing to the design and development of bespoke engineering solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design and produce accurate electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical.

    * Create detailed wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and electrical system drawings.

    * Develop and maintain electrical design documentation in line with company and industry standards.

    * Design electrical control systems and support the development of new and existing products.

    * Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and project managers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

    * Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and customer specifications.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience in an Electrical Design Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    * Proficient in SolidWorks Electrical for creating electrical schematics and drawings.

    * Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, control systems, and industry standards.

    * Experience designing electrical systems, wiring layouts, and control panels.

    * Excellent problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.

    * Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

    Desirable

    * HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Must have previous experience working with SolidWorks.

    * Experience with PLC-controlled systems or industrial automation.

    * Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and standards.

    * Experience working with bespoke machinery or special-purpose equipment.
