How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Full Time | Long-Term Opportunity | September 2026 Start

    Are you an experienced and passionate SENDCo looking for your next rewarding opportunity in a welcoming and supportive secondary school?

    We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join a highly regarded secondary school in Birmingham from September 2026, at the start of the new academic year. This is a full-time position offering excellent long-term prospects and has the potential to become a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

    The Role

    As SENDCo, you will lead and manage the school's SEND provision, ensuring that students with additional needs receive high-quality support and access to an inclusive educational experience.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Leading and developing the school's SEND strategy and provision

    * Identifying and assessing students with special educational needs and disabilities

    * Working collaboratively with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, carers and external agencies

    * Monitoring student progress and implementing effective intervention strategies

    * Managing EHCP processes and annual reviews

    * Supporting staff with SEND best practice and inclusive teaching strategies

    * Ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and statutory requirements

    * Promoting a culture of inclusion across the school

    Essential Requirements

    * National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENDCos (or equivalent mandatory SENDCo qualification)

    * Previous experience working as a SENDCo within a secondary school setting

    * Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation

    * Experience managing EHCPs and working with external agencies

    * Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

    * A commitment to improving outcomes for students with SEND

    Desirable

    * Significant experience leading SEND provision in a secondary school

    * Experience contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives

    * Ability to support and develop teaching staff through coaching and training
