How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Shift Engineer

    Location: City of London
    Salary: £45,000 per annum + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at a prestigious commercial property in the City of London.     The Role

    As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a modern commercial building, ensuring all electrical systems and associated plant are maintained to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.

    * Fault find, diagnose and repair electrical plant and equipment.

    * Maintain and monitor LV electrical systems, lighting, emergency lighting, UPS systems, generators and building services plant.

    * Support the maintenance of HVAC equipment and associated mechanical systems where required.

    * Ensure all statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are adhered to.

    * Complete maintenance records accurately using the site's CAFM system.

    * Liaise with contractors and site management to ensure excellent service delivery.

    * Participate in the shift rota and respond effectively to emergency call-outs when required.

    What We're Looking For

    * Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

    * Experience working within commercial building maintenance or critical environments.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Good understanding of building services systems and electrical distribution.

    * Knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work.

    * Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
