How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Residential Support Worker – Children's EBD Home
    Pay: £14.00–£15.00 per hour

    We are seeking compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to join a Children's EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) Home, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

    * Promote positive behaviour, independence, and personal development while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.

    * Safeguard children and ensure their welfare is always the highest priority.

    * Support the implementation of care plans, complete accurate records, reports, and daily documentation.

    * Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, and other professionals.

    * Act as a Key Worker, delivering regular key work sessions and contributing to reviews and care planning.

    * Participate in household duties, activities, training, and team meetings to maintain a safe and welcoming home.

    * Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour, including using approved physical intervention techniques where necessary.

    Requirements:

    * Experience working with children and young people, ideally within a residential or EBD setting.

    * Strong communication, resilience, and a caring approach.

    * Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

    * Commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, and promoting positive outcomes for young people
