How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Attend client meetings and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.

    * Mentor and develop graduate, intermediate and senior engineers.

    * Carry out technical reviews and ensure compliance with relevant UK design standards and regulations.

    * Support business development activities and help secure new project opportunities.

    * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation within the business.

    About You

    You'll be an experienced Structural Engineer with strong technical knowledge and proven experience leading projects and teams.

    You should have:

    * MEng/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.

    * Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or MICE), or be close to achieving chartership.

    * Extensive experience within a structural engineering consultancy.

    * Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards.

    * Experience designing in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.

    * Proficiency using industry software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot Structural Analysis or similar.

    * Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

    * Experience managing project teams and mentoring junior engineers.

    * Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project budgets and programmes.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary.

    * Annual performance bonus.

    * Hybrid and flexible working.

    * Generous annual leave allowance.

    * Company pension scheme.

    * Private healthcare.

    * Professional membership fees paid.

    * Ongoing training and support towards continued professional development.

    * Clear pathway towards Associate and Technical Director level.

    * Opportunity to work on prestigious UK and international projects.

    * Collaborative and supportive working environment.

    If you're an experienced Principal Structural Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking consultancy where you'll have genuine influence over projects, clients and the future growth of the business, we'd love to hear from you
