How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Basildon, Essex

    Full Time, Permanent – 40 hours

    We're looking for a qualified Electrician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service to join our repairs and maintenance team working across social housing properties in Basildon, Essex. You'll play an important role in helping to keep residents safe by maintaining compliant electrical systems and delivering high-quality repairs across local communities.

    About the role

    You'll deliver a high-quality, right first-time service carrying out a variety of electrical repairs, testing, installation and condition reporting works.

    You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs, carrying out EICRs and inspections, and undertaking installation works while ensuring full compliance with current electrical regulations and company standards. Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you'll use electronic systems to manage and record your work, maintain van stock levels and contribute towards achieving excellent first-time fix rates.

    This is a varied role offering the opportunity to utilise your electrical expertise while also undertaking basic multi-skilled tasks where required. You'll play an important part in maintaining safe, compliant homes and delivering an exceptional service to residents.

    About you

    We're looking for a qualified Electrician who takes pride in delivering quality work, enjoys problem-solving and is committed to providing an excellent service to residents.

    You'll be confident carrying out electrical repairs, testing, fault finding and installation works while ensuring compliance with current regulations and safety standards.

    Essential Qualifications

    * You must hold a valid full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months as a company vehicle will be provided (work use only).

    * ECS Card - Gold or working toward

    * Testing Qualification/s and pat testing experience

    * Electrical Installations BS7671 (18th Edition) if not delivered as part of one of the below courses

    You will hold any of the below:

    * Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation - Buildings & Structures)

    * Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment)

    * City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory and Practice Part 2

    * Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology
