How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Infrastructure Linux Engineer with SC Clearence

    We are looking for an experienced Linux Admins/Engineers to join Digital Platforms which is involved in the standards, development and maintenance of a number of systems across the organisation.

    The Linux Engineer will be involved in the following activities, amongst others:

    * Provisioning of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 to 10) systems in both physical and virtual environments

    * In-Situ upgrading of RHEL servers using LEAPP upgrade too

    * Advise project managers on Linux-related technical and delivery matters

    Essential Skills/Competencies

    * Previous experience in a technical position within Linux platform support and/or delivery

    * Familiarity with request, problem and project management processes and tools

    * Detail oriented, process driven, highly innovative mindset, with deeply engrained sense of ownership for the projects delivered

    * Adept at stakeholder communications, from senior level to domain-wide engagement events

    Technical Skills & Requirements

    Essential

    * Experience of managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux production systems (RHEL 7 through to 10)

    * Experience of using scripting to automate tasks

    * Experience with virtualisation technologies (Linux under VMWare)

    * Experience of working within the ITIL framework

    * Experience of managing systems with RHN satellite

    Desirable

    * Recent experience with JBoss

    * Linux performance tuning skills

    * Experience with Linux failover clustering

    * Experience of Cisco UCS hardware.

    * Service-orientated customer facing skills

    * Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and execution

    * Proven skills in aligning IT with organisational drivers
