How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a prominent entity in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Product Support Engineer Lead to join their growing Production Engineering team. This permanent role plays an essential part in delivering integrated engineering support throughout the product lifecycle. The successful applicant will provide high-value technical assistance to various functions, ensuring smooth assembly operations and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Managing the day-to-day activities and priorities of the Product Support Engineering team, in line with business requirements
    Training and developing a team of product support engineers, providing guidance on complex technical issues
    Acting as the primary technical escalation point for assembly-related product issues
    Providing expert technical support for assembly operations, including troubleshooting complex product issues
    Coordinating cross-functional activities with design, supply chain, quality, and suppliers
    Supporting supplier technical discussions related to parts, sub-assemblies, and manufacturing.
    Representing the department at review meetings
    Collaborating with production teams to meet output and efficiency targets
    Working with key stakeholders to drive efficiency and productivity improvements
    Contributing to continuous improvement activities
    Undertaking special projects as required

    Job Requirements:

    Significant experience in senior leadership positions within a manufacturing environment
    Advanced knowledge of sensors, electrical engineering, and fabricating processes
    Proven experience in supervising technical teams and providing expert guidance
    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex product issues
    Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional activities
    Understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies
    Ability to manage supplier technical discussions and support manufacturing.
    Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
