How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Vertical Recruitment are proud to be working closely with a Leading global Building Services Consultancy, now operating in central Manchester with ambitious growth plans. The company are one of the world’s leading consultancies in the Data Centre Sector.

    An independent multi-award-winning business, with an excellent industry reputation. They work with both developers and internationally recognised end users, designing Data Centre Projects globally, typical project values reach the multibillion-pound region.

    As the Manchester office develops the business is looking to appoint several key individuals. As such there is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

    Successful applicants will have a relevant degree and sufficient industry experience to operate as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Key functions include.

    * Mechanical building services design to data centre projects throughout Europe and globally.

    * Contributing to the team to ensure successful preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support.

    * Communicating effectively with both internal and external design teams, clients and collaborators to ensure successful project delivery.

    * Compiling specifications, drawings, and relevant Contract documents and maintaining the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations, and Procedures
