How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Service team, covering the South Wales area.

    Reporting to our Cardiff Depot, you'll service, maintain and repair construction equipment at customer sites, ensuring machines remain safe, reliable and operating at peak performance. You'll manage your own workload while being supported by our experienced Service, Parts and Operations teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.

    Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.

    Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.

    Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.

    Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.

    Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.

    Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

    What We're Looking For

    NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.

    Experience working on heavy plant or construction equipment.

    Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and auto-electrics.

    Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

    Good communication and IT skills.
