How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
    Location: Ipswich
    Salary: Up to £41,200 Basic Salary Depending on Experience | OTE Up to £45,000
    Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm | 1 in 4 Saturdays 7:45am - 4:45pm (with a day off during the week)

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Mechanic / Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to the highest standards while ensuring excellent efficiency and attention to detail.

    Responsibilities include:
    - Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
    - Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
    - Conducting vehicle inspections and health checks
    - Identifying and reporting any additional work required
    - Ensuring all repairs are completed in line with manufacturer and safety standards
    - Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards
    - Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maintain productivity and deliver outstanding customer satisfaction

    About You
    - NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
    - At least 2 years' experience within the automotive industry
    - Strong servicing, maintenance and fault-finding skills
    - MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
    - Your own tools and toolbox
    - Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    - Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
    - A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
