We're working exclusively with a Devon based Local Authority to recruit a Litigation Team Lead , an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive looking to combine hands-on advocacy with team leadership.
This is more than just another litigation role. You'll lead a small but talented team, oversee complex and varied contentious matters, and play a key role in supporting one of the South West's most ambitious local authorities.
The Role
* Lead and develop a Litigation Lawyer, Legal Officer and Apprentice Lawyer.
* Manage a varied caseload across housing, planning enforcement, environmental health, debt recovery, homelessness and other local government litigation.
* Represent the Council in the civil and criminal courts and tribunals.
* Advise senior officers, elected Members and key stakeholders on complex legal issues.
* Drive high standards, service improvements and best practice across the litigation function.
About You
You'll be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with strong litigation experience across civil, commercial or criminal matters with 5 years + PQE. Confident in court, you'll combine technical excellence with the leadership skills to motivate, mentor and develop others.
This is an ideal move for a Senior Litigation Lawyer ready to take the next step into leadership, or an established Team Leader looking for a fresh challenge.
