How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Warehouse Manager (Night Shift)

Salary: Up to £45,000 base salary
    Location: Kent
    Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday | 22:00 – 06:00

We're partnering with a fast-growing and highly respected food storage and distribution business that continues to invest heavily in its people, facilities and operational excellence.

Supplying a wide range of food and drink products to customers across the foodservice sector, the business has experienced significant growth over recent years and is now looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead its critical night operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you'll have genuine autonomy, the ability to influence operational performance and the chance to grow your career as the company continues its exciting expansion journey.

    The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll take full responsibility for the night warehouse operation, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and prepared accurately for next-day delivery.

Leading a team of approximately 16–17 warehouse colleagues, including Team Leaders, you'll oversee operations across ambient, chilled and frozen environments, creating a positive, high-performing culture where safety, accuracy and productivity are always at the forefront.

This isn't a role for someone who simply maintains the status quo. We're looking for a proactive leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people and driving operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Take full responsibility for the night warehouse operation, ensuring all customer orders are picked accurately and ready for dispatch by 6:00am.
    • Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 16–17 warehouse colleagues, including Team Leaders.
    • Create a positive, engaged and high-performing team culture through visible leadership and regular communication.
    • Deliver structured shift briefings, ensuring clear priorities and expectations are set each night.
    • Monitor productivity, accuracy and service levels, taking proactive action to maintain operational performance.
    • Plan labour requirements, manage shift rotas and authorise annual leave to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
    • Support colleague development through coaching, one-to-ones, training and performance management.
    • Oversee warehouse activities across ambient, chilled and frozen storage areas, maintaining high operational standards.
    • Monitor transport scheduling systems to ensure deliveries remain on schedule and operational issues are resolved quickly.
    • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, increase efficiency and enhance overall operational performance.
    • Work closely with the Operations Director and wider leadership team to support continuous improvement initiatives.

    About You

You'll be an engaging and proactive warehouse leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and taking ownership of operational performance.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and understand the importance of delivering exceptional customer service through an efficient warehouse operation.

    Essential Experience

    • Previous experience within food manufacturing, foodservice distribution or large-scale food warehousing.
    • Experience as a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or Senior Warehouse Team Leader.
    • Proven leadership experience within fast-paced warehouse, picking or dispatch operations.
    • Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
    • Experience managing warehouse KPIs, productivity and operational performance.

    Desirable Experience

    • Experience managing ambient, chilled and frozen warehouse environments.
    • Knowledge of food storage and distribution operations.
    • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
    • Exposure to warehouse management systems and transport planning software.

    What's On Offer?

    • Up to £45,000 base salary.
    • Sunday to Thursday night shift (22:00 – 06:00).
    • Genuine autonomy to shape and improve the night operation.
    • Join a rapidly growing business investing heavily in its people and infrastructure.
    • Long-term career progression opportunities as the business continues to expand.
    • A supportive leadership team that encourages new ideas and continuous improvement.

If you're a proactive warehouse leader who enjoys developing people, improving operations and making a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let's start the conversation
