How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Grinder

    Hourly Salary: £16.50 - £19 per hour, depending on experience
    Location: Accrington, Lancashire
    Job Type: Full-timeOur client is seeking a CNC Grinder to join their dedicated team in the Toolroom department. This role involves manufacturing precision parts for customers, following design specifications, blueprints, and drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual surface and cylindrical grinding machines.

    Day-to-day of the role:

    Operate manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines such as Jones & Shipman 540 and 1300, XYZ 2040 Surface grinder, and Abwood RG1 circular ring grinder, producing parts to tight tolerances.
    Measure and inspect manufactured items to ensure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your line manager.
    Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oil and coolant level checks.
    Produce work to the required quality standard while keeping waste to a minimum.
    Follow written instructions and safe working practices, maintaining a safe and tidy work area.
    Contribute to improving safety, quality, and productivity through the continual improvement process.Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for tight tolerance work.
    Excellent knowledge within a Toolroom grinding department.
    Experience with CNC grinding machines is advantageous (training available).
    Knowledge of CMM Inspection machines is also advantageous.Benefits:
