How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer (LV/MV Switchgear)

    £48,000 - £60,000 + Training + Progression + Overtime + Bonuses + Van + Excellent Company Benefits

    Ideally located near: Bristol, Gloucester, Yate, Swindon, Chippenham, Cirencester, Stroud

    Are you a Field Service Engineer with experience on LV/MV switchgear, looking to join a secure and well-established company known for looking after its staff?

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist business offering long-term stability, further training and genuine progression, while working on a varied range of switchgear projects for clients across the UK.

    The company has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality electrical solutions and continues to grow due to ongoing demand. They are now looking for an experienced engineer to support installations, commissioning and technical service work across client sites.

    In this role, you will predominantly service clients across the south of the UK, with occasional international travel when required. You will install and commission LV/MV switchboards, carry out testing and fault diagnostics, and support smooth project delivery from site through to completion.

    The role would suit a Field Service Engineer with LV/MV switchgear experience who is looking for a secure, varied position with training, progression and strong long-term prospects.

    The Role:

    Install, commission and test LV/MV switchboards and switchgear systems, including relay configuration, fault finding, SATs and supporting documentation
    Visiting clients across the South of the UK, with occasional international travel
    £48,000 - £60,000 + Overtime + Training + Progression
    The Person:

    Field Service Engineer or Commissioning Engineer
    Experience with LV/MV switchgear or switchboards
    Electrical background with strong fault-finding skills
    Full UK driving licence
    Happy to travel across the UK, with occasional international travel
