How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Housing Solutions Worker (Domestic Abuse Specialist)

    Role:                Domestic Abuse Housing Support Worker

    Based:             Birmingham

    Rate of Pay:    £14-£18 (dependent on pay status)

    Duration:         Temp On Going ( Possibility of an FTE)

    Hours:             35 hours/ Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

    Hybrid:            4 days in the office and 1 from home

    Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of an inspirational national charity who have over 50 years’ experience supporting people to rebuild their lives and empowering positive change.

    They are looking for a Housing Solutions Worker (Domestic Abuse) to provide drop in housing advice and crisis management support to victims of domestic abuse.   

    The service plays a key role in supporting the Council to meet its homelessness prevention and relief duties in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017

    Synopsis of duties:

    Carrying out housing need assessments and identifying housing and support needs and assessing the council’s duty to house

    Focusing on homeless prevention work and use a range of prevention tools to maximise opportunities to prevent and relieve homelessness
    Managing a caseload of survivors/families affected by domestic abuse, supporting them to find housing appropriate to their needs and support to access to statutory and other community services as necessary
    Supporting service users who attend drop-in sessions
    Undertaking initial inquiries into a person’s eligibility and homelessness/threatened with homelessness status and making appropriate referrals
    Developing, updating and reviewing Personal Housing Plans (PHP) with survivors What they are looking for:

    Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of the Housing Act and all relevant Homelessness Legislation
    Experience within the field of housing options, homelessness and/ housing support
    Working knowledge of domestic abuse would be highly desirable
