How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A leading construction and maintenance contractor is currently seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality tender submissions across the social housing sector.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a talented bid professional who is looking to join a successful organisation where they will play a key role in securing new business and supporting continued growth.

    Working closely with the Head of Bids and wider operational teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing compelling, high-quality tender responses that clearly demonstrate the company's strengths, capabilities and commitment to delivering exceptional services for clients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Manage the preparation and submission of high-quality tender responses from initial opportunity through to final submission.

    * Develop clear and persuasive written content that meets client requirements and maximises bid success.

    * Work collaboratively with internal teams including operations, commercial, compliance and business development.

    * Lead tender launch meetings and coordinate contributions to ensure deadlines are achieved.

    * Identify key win themes and ensure they are effectively communicated throughout bid submissions.

    * Review client requirements, assess risks and support the development of effective solutions.

    * Ensure all bids are compliant with procurement requirements, industry standards and client expectations.

    * Support post-tender interviews, presentations and client feedback sessions.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    * Previous experience in a Bid Writer or Bid Management role within construction, housing maintenance, refurbishment or a related sector.

    * Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience producing successful tender submissions.

    * Good understanding of the social housing sector, including housing associations, local authorities and public sector procurement.

    * Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce engaging and persuasive content.

    * Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

    * Confident working with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.

    * A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and add value to the bidding process.

    Desirable Experience:

    * Experience using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat.

    * Strong Microsoft Office skills.

    * Knowledge of AI tools and how they can enhance the bid process.

    * Understanding of construction standards, compliance requirements and social value expectations.

    What's on Offer:

    * Competitive salary and benefits package.

    * Opportunity to join a respected and growing contractor.

    * Work from home 1 – 2 days a week

    * Ongoing training and professional development.

    If you are an experienced Bid Writer looking for your next career move with a forward-thinking contractor, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this role with you
