Introduction
We are looking for a proactive and organised Materials Coordinator to ensure the efficient flow of raw materials, work in progress (WIP) and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process. Working closely with Production Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production and Shipping teams, you will help ensure materials are available to meet customer demand, maintain inventory accuracy and support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the availability and movement of raw materials, WIP and finished goods to support production schedules.
* Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages or supply risks, and maintain accurate ERP/MRP records.
* Support production planning by updating schedules, tracking progress and communicating changes in priorities.
* Work with Warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock control, efficient storage and stock rotation.
* Coordinate the dispatch of finished goods, ensuring customer delivery schedules are met.
* Provide inventory, WIP and material availability data to support the monthly S&OP process.
* Identify opportunities to improve inventory management, material flow and planning processes.
* Support Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives and KPI reporting.
Ideal Skills & Experience
* Experience in a materials coordination, production planning, inventory control or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
* Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management principles.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
* Analytical approach with good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is desirable
Salary: £28K - £30K (Full time on-site role)
Hours: Days - Monday to Friday Days 40 Hours Per Week
