How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will:

    Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    Deliver engaging, practical and creative lessons that inspire a love of music.
    Develop students' performance, composition and listening skills.
    Encourage participation in musical activities both within and beyond the classroom.
    Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
    Create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
    Contribute to concerts, performances and extracurricular music activities where appropriate.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Have a degree in Music or a related discipline.
    Possess strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music education.
    Be confident teaching both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum.
    Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Inspire, challenge and motivate students of all abilities.
    Be committed to raising standards and achieving excellent outcomes for young people.
    Demonstrate a positive, flexible and professional approach to teaching.
