How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Completing electronic job cards, service records and maintenance documentation using tablets and PDA devices.

    * Providing roadside breakdown assistance and support when required.

    * Maintaining workshop tools, equipment and Mobile Service Vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition.

    * Ensuring the workshop is maintained to a clean, organised and safe standard.

    * Working in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Operator Licence requirements and company procedures.

    * Collaborating with colleagues and sharing technical knowledge to support the wider Fleet & Plant team.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    Essential Qualifications & Experience

    * City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * HGV Licence.

    * Previous experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, HGVs and/or plant equipment.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

    * Ability to work independently whilst following established procedures and safety standards.

    Skills & Competencies

    We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

    * Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

    * Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

    * Good organisational and time management skills.

    * Confidence using digital maintenance management systems and handheld devices.
