Working Days/Hours: 37hrs per week. Monday - Friday 9AM- 5PM
Contract: This is a temporary position until 11th Jan 2027 with a possibility for extension.
Brook Street in partnership with Ministry of Justice has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Admin Officer. This is great opportunity to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.
What you'll be doing:
* Preparing papers, files, and court documents for hearings and meetings
* Managing records on in-house systems and data input
* Assisting with civil and family court clerking, ensuring files and materials are ready
* Supporting court users with face-to-face, telephone, and written enquiries
* Scheduling and coordinating court activities, including serving documents and collecting fines
* Drafting correspondence, minutes, reports, and submissions
* Checking and verifying documents, accounts, and legal paperwork
* Collecting and assembling information for reports, statistical analysis, and court returns
* Communicating effectively with judiciary, legal professionals, and external agencies
* Contributing to team meetings, problem-solving, and small projects
What you'll bring:
* Minimum of five GCSEs (A-C) or NVQ Business Administration Level II, or relevant administrative experience
* Strong computer skills to handle various administrative tasks
* Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional approach
* Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage your own workload
* Flexibility to work across different office locations as needed
Additional information:
* The role involves working within a team, with opportunities to exercise discretion and initiative
* You may be asked to undertake ad hoc duties such as Jury Bailiff Officer or Health & Safety roles
* A flexible approach and willingness to adapt to changing priorities are essential
Training:
On-the-job training provided, Day-to-Day locations is Northampton but may need to travel to Wellingborough from time to time. Possibility for training at other counties / courts.
