Carrington West are pleased to be working with a established and highly respected rural planning consultancy based in Skipton is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who enjoys working on diverse rural and countryside projects, with the chance to develop their career in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Working with private landowners, farming businesses, rural estates, developers and commercial clients, you'll play a key role in delivering planning advice across a broad range of projects throughout Yorkshire and the North of England.

The Role
As Town Planner, you will:
·Manage a varied portfolio of rural and countryside planning projects.
·Prepare, submit and manage planning applications from inception through to determination.
·Provide planning advice to landowners, developers and rural businesses.
·Produce planning statements, appeals and supporting documentation.
·Liaise with local planning authorities, consultees and stakeholders.
·Identify planning opportunities and constraints for development sites.
·Build and maintain strong client relationships.
·Keep up to date with planning legislation and policy changes.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
·A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
·MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
·Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or private practice.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.
·A full UK driving licence.
