How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Lead the month-end process, producing a fully reconciled trial balance for the Group finance team.
    * Maintain full control of the balance sheet, including fixed assets, accruals and prepayments.
    * Manage the sales ledger, raising invoices and overseeing credit control to maximise cash collection.
    * Process purchase invoices and maintain the purchase order system.
    * Prepare monthly VAT and CIS returns.
    * Reconcile bank accounts and manage daily cash reporting.
    * Maintain the nominal ledger, posting journals and reconciling control accounts.
    * Review and approve company credit card expenditure.
    * Manage technician travel and accommodation expenditure in line with budgets.
    * Ensure robust financial controls are maintained and continually improved.
    * Work closely with operational colleagues to support the commercial success of the business.
    About You
    * AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent), although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
    * At least four years' experience within an accounting or finance role.
    * Previous experience producing management information and month-end accounts.
    * Experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting software is desirable.
    * Strong understanding of VAT, CIS and general accounting principles.
    * Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
    * Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
    * Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships across the business.
    * Able to manage your own workload and work independently.
    * Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing or another project-led environment would be advantageous.
    What's on Offer
    * Competitive salary.
    * Company pension.
    * Supportive and collaborative working environment.
    * Opportunity to take ownership of the finance function within a growing business.
    * A varied role with genuine responsibility and autonomy.
    * Ongoing training and career development.
    If you're an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Accounts professional looking for a role where you can make a real contribution to a successful and growing engineering business, we'd love to hear from you
