How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Build high-performance software that solves complex technical challenges.

Are you a Software Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? If you enjoy writing high-quality code, solving demanding technical problems and working with modern technologies, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for engineers with at least a year of commercial software development experience who are keen to continue developing their skills in a collaborative, high-performing environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on challenging projects where performance, quality and innovation are at the heart of everything you do.

    About You

You'll have commercial experience developing software in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, Python or C++, together with some experience of a language that uses unmanaged memory. You enjoy learning, thrive on technical challenges and take pride in delivering robust, maintainable solutions.

Experience in either high-performance computing (HPC) or financial services technology is essential, and if you've worked in both, that's even better. We're looking for people who are curious, collaborative and motivated to build software that makes a real impact.

    What You'll Bring

At least one year of full-time commercial experience as a Software Engineer.

Strong programming skills in Java, C#, Python (object-oriented) or C++.

Commercial experience with at least one unmanaged memory language.

Experience in either high-performance computing or financial services technology.

The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis.

You'll be part of a talented engineering team working on technically challenging projects using modern development practices. This is an environment where you'll be encouraged to share ideas, continue learning and grow your career while working on software that demands performance, reliability and engineering excellence.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background
