How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of transport, carrier management and fleet operations within a growing distribution business. You'll be responsible for ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively while driving service improvements, compliance and customer satisfaction.

    Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead all logistics and transport activities across the operation.
    Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, courier networks and transport suppliers.
    Monitor carrier performance against agreed KPIs and service level agreements.
    Investigate delivery failures and implement corrective actions to improve customer experience.
    Oversee the company vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operationally effective.
    Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance schedules, documentation and defect reporting.
    Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, operator licence requirements and company policies.
    Monitor driver compliance, licence checks and vehicle standards.
    Develop and maintain logistics performance dashboards and reporting.
    Analyse delivery and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    Manage the logistics budget, driving cost savings while maintaining service quality.
    Support supplier tenders, contract negotiations and logistics strategy reviews.
    Lead contingency planning for transport disruptions, supplier failures and vehicle breakdowns.
    Drive continuous improvement projects across the logistics function.
    Collaborate with operational departments to ensure a seamless end-to-end supply chain.Profile

    The Successful Candidate:

    Previous experience in a Logistics Manager, Transport Manager or Supply Chain leadership role.
    Strong understanding of transport operations, logistics processes and carrier management.
    Experience managing third-party logistics providers and external suppliers.
    Proven ability to analyse operational KPIs and implement measurable improvements.
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and costs.
    Highly organised with strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
    Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Experience within warehouse and distribution environments would be advantageous.
    Transport Manager CPC qualification would be highly desirable.
    Knowledge of transport compliance, operator licence requirements and Health & Safety legislation is beneficial.
