How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Telehandler Operator – Fleet – Immediate Start

    Location: Fleet, Hampshire
    Duration: 1 Week
    Start: Monday 20th July 2026

    Hard Hat Recruitment is looking for an experienced Telehandler Operator to work on a busy construction site in Fleet for approximately one week.

    This is a site that's coming to the end of the project, so duties will primarily involve moving materials, equipment and site items, assisting with the final stages of the build and supporting site management as required.

    When telehandler work is quiet, you'll be expected to muck in with the site team, assisting the labourers with general site duties to help keep the project moving.

    There is also an excellent opportunity to move straight onto our next project in Newbury, which is due to start in August, for the right candidate.

    Responsibilities

    * Operating the telehandler safely and efficiently.

    * Moving materials, pallets and equipment around site.

    * Assisting trades and site management with lifting operations.

    * Carrying out daily machine checks.

    * Supporting labourers with general site duties during quieter periods.

    * Working in accordance with site health and safety procedures.

    * Helping keep the site running smoothly during the final phase of the project.

    Requirements

    * Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler ticket.

    * Valid CSCS card.

    * Previous experience operating a telehandler on construction sites.

    * Happy to assist with general labouring duties when telehandler work is quiet.

    * Full PPE.

    * Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

    * Ability to provide recent work references.

    If you're available to start immediately and are looking for ongoing opportunities, we'd like to hear from you.
