How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor / Associate Director

    Location: Warrington/Manchester/Lancashire Office

My client is an established and highly respected property consultancy that is continuing its impressive growth across the North West.

This opportunity is open to experienced Building Surveyors ready to step into a Senior position through to those already operating at Associate Director level. They're looking for an ambitious individual who wants to play a key role in the growth of a thriving business while enjoying genuine career progression.

    The Role

You'll work with a wide variety of clients across the UK, delivering professional building surveying services on a diverse portfolio of projects. Their client base includes universities, schools, academy trusts, local authorities and other public and private sector organisations, with a particular focus on capital works programmes and condition surveys.

This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for managing multiple commissions simultaneously, delivering high-quality technical advice and building strong relationships with clients. You'll work collaboratively with Project Managers and colleagues across the business to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities

Deliver a range of professional building surveying services, with a primary focus on capital works projects.
Undertake condition surveys and prepare detailed technical reports.
Manage consultancy commissions from inception through to completion.
Carry out dilapidations instructions where required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.
Ensure effective communication throughout all project stages, providing clear and timely updates.
Work closely with Project Managers and Team Leaders to maintain financial control and maximise project profitability.
Monitor programme performance and ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales.
Keep the Sector Director informed of project progress through clear and quantified reporting.
Mentor and support junior Building Surveyors, assisting with their professional development.
Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Lancashire office.
    About You

Looking to speak with Building Surveyors who have a broad technical background and enjoy working across a varied project portfolio.

    You'll ideally have:

A degree in Building Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
MRICS status, or be actively working towards chartership.
Experience delivering capital works and professional building surveying services.
Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of building surveying disciplines.
Experience carrying out condition surveys and producing high-quality reports.
A good understanding of the education and public sector environments would be advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of current building regulations, legislation and commercial practices.
The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project risk.
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
The confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
    What's on Offer?

Join an ambitious consultancy with an excellent reputation and exciting growth plans. They're committed to investing in their people and providing clear opportunities for career progression.

    You'll benefit from:

The opportunity to join a growing business at an exciting stage of its development.
Genuine career progression from Senior Building Surveyor through to Associate Director and beyond.
A varied workload across a broad range of sectors and projects.
Exposure to high-profile public sector and education clients.
A collaborative and supportive working environment.
Ongoing professional development and support towards chartership (if applicable).
    Competitive salary and benefits package.
    Flexible working options.
The opportunity to help shape the future success of a growing regional team
