How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Engineer

    Job Type: Temporary / Contract

    Location: Norfolk 

    Rate of Pay: Competitive – DOE (CIS / LTD / Umbrella available)

    ARC are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer for an immediate start on a major civil engineering project in Norfolk.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on an initial 3–4 month contract, with the potential to move onto a further project upon completion. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Engineer who can hit the ground running and support the successful delivery of the works.

    Requirements:

    CSCS Card (relevant to role)
    SSSTS or SMSTS
    HSG47 Training and/or Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) Training
    Relevant engineering qualification and/or demonstrable experience within a Site Engineer role
    Full UK driving licence (preferred)
    Strong communication and organisational skills

    Duration & Working Hours:

    Immediate Start
    Initial 3–4 month contract
    Monday to Friday
    7:00am – 5:00pm
    Opportunity to continue onto another project following successful completion

    Main Duties:

    Setting out for:

    Cable ducts
    Earthworks
    Small sections of deep drainage
    Reinforced concrete (RC) pad foundations

    Carrying out quality management and ensuring QA documentation is completed in line with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) ready for client handover
    Acting as Buried Services Coordinator, including:

    Managing service avoidance plans for multiple excavation activities
    Issuing excavation permits
    Ensuring Buried Service Supervisors are working in accordance with permit requirements

    Liaising with site management, subcontractors and the client to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
    Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality throughout the project

    Previous Experience:

    Applicants should have previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects and be confident setting out, managing QA documentation, and coordinating buried services.
