How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools

    Northampton | Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Opportunities
    Starting September 2026 onwards
    £110 - £150 per day (dependent on experience)

    Are you looking for a rewarding role in education where no two days are the same? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of welcoming secondary schools in the Northampton area from September 2026 onwards.

    Whether you're seeking flexible day-to-day work, short-term placements, or a long-term position, we have opportunities to suit your availability and career goals for the new academic year.

    The Role

    As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

    Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
    Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.
    Support pupils in completing set work while maintaining a positive learning environment.
    Follow school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive classroom.

    We Are Looking For Candidates Who:

    Have experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, youth work, or similar setting.
    Possess excellent communication and classroom management skills.
    Are confident, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
    Hold a degree or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
    Have, or are willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
